"You’re off to great places/Today is your day/Your mountain is waiting/So get on your way." —Dr Seuss
The chalk itself was great, but my favourite part was how doing art in a public space like this is an invitation for people to stop and read it and comment, or grin as they drive by at the sight of two oldish girls sprawled all over the pavement, or tell you how they and their three-year-old are huge fans of Dr Seuss. SO MANY people stopped to talk to us, without any awkwardness or self-consciousness. It felt like tapping into something changing and breathing and connected and alive and I want to do a whole lot of this.
